Summary/Objective

The Counter Sales Representative position is the face of sales and customer service for Noble Gas Solutions retail locations. This role reports to the Branch Lead and has no direct reports.

Essential Functions

  • Solicit sales from walk-in customers and telephone call-in customers; assisting with identification of product needs and locating merchandise.
  • Accurately complete and file all required paperwork on a timely basis. Document sales, quotes, or other information.
  • Enter sales and quote data into TIMS and research information for customers using the computer systems.
  • Receive payment for merchandise and services sold and enter sales into the computer.
  • Responsible for payments received and adhering to administrative and accounting related procedures.
  • Wrap and bag purchases and help customers load merchandise into their vehicles.
  • Provide warehouse support for shipping and receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, labeling, or other tasks.
  • Restock store merchandise as needed. Arrange stock on shelves or racks in sales area and keep merchandise in order. Mark or ticket merchandise and conduct inventory counts as needed.
  • Maintain working cylinder stock, generate transfers from Filling Plant and other branch locations.
  • Follow all safety procedures. Use established safety procedures for cylinder handling during exchanges and storage of cylinders.
  • Maintain current price documentation and product literature as it becomes available.
  • Ensure product knowledge is current.
  • Maintain showroom and facility cleanliness.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by leadership.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Counter Sales Representative position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for those in the entry level sales or warehouse roles.

Work Environment

This job operates in a plant/warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure during the workday; may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer equipment, phones, scanners, and copiers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch; or occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects in excess of 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Travel

No regular travel is expected for this position.

Education, Experience & Certification

High School Diploma or equivalent required, two (2) years previous product, warehouse, sales experience, and/or training preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience combined.

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience in welding, manufacturing, and/or parts procurement, preferred. Experience with ERP software (TIMS or CRM) and Salesforce.

Work Authorization

Eligibility to work in the U.S. with the appropriate work authorization documentation.
