Noble Gas Solutions Responds to Rensselaer Boys & Girls Club’s Plea for Help

Albany, N.Y. — Noble Gas Solutions, one of the leading gas and welding equipment distributors in the United States, today donated $5,000 to the Rensselaer Boys & Girls Club after the club’s plea for financial assistance.

In a recent Times Union article, officials at the Rensselaer Boys & Girls Club noted that they must raise $100,000 in the next several weeks or close by the end of next month. Noting that they are “in dire straits,” shuttering the club’s doors would put more than 120 children out on the street every day.

“When I heard of the desperate situation the Rensselaer Boy & Girls Club was in, and that they were even unable to pay their power bill, we just had to help them,” said J. DavidMahoney, President/CEO, Noble Gas Solutions. “Not having a place for the more than 120 children to go every day, and the 1,500 children they serve annually from neighboring communities, did not seem like an option to us. We sincerely hope this will help them keep their doors open for now so they can assist all who need them.”

“Due to the overwhelming generosity and support of the community, and of people like Dave Mahoney, it now doesn’t appear we’re going to have to close,” said Rick Van Vorst, Executive Director, Rensselaer Boys & Girls Club.

While the club is confronting its short-term needs, its board of directors is trying to determine a long-term financial solution for continuing to meet the club’s ongoing operational and financial needs, including a fundraiser on January 21, 2012.
