Soldering vs Brazing
Soldering and brazing are processes designed to join two or more items by melting and putting a filler metal into the joint. There are various soldering and brazing metals to choose from including lead, tin, silver, cobalt, nickel, and copper.
One of the key differences between soldering and brazing is the melting temperature of the filler metal- soldering filler metals melt at a lower temperature than brazing. Because of this, soldering results in a lower-strength bond than brazing but this is fine for most applications. Soldering is often used to join electrical components together or for plumbing purposes such as pipes.
