Meet Jocelyn Merlo, Marketing Manager at Noble Gas Solutions. She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts with a concentration in Marketing from the University at Albany, SUNY. In her role, she has focused her efforts on bringing Noble Gas’ into the digital age. Her passion for marketing has only strengthened since joining the Sales & Marketing department.
Since joining the company in 2016, Jocelyn has sought to facilitate departmental processes having experienced the difficulties herself. Her previous experience with the Customer Service and Sales teams gave her valuable insight into the struggles of long established processes. She assisted with the restructuring of the sales department and the point for the development of the company’s CRM.
Jocelyn believes in making the workplace a happy and enjoyable environment. She strives to encourage her colleagues and engage them in the company and community. She frequently organizes employee appreciation activities such as company picnics and holiday parties. Jocelyn is always up for a new challenge, and encourages others to collaborate on company projects. She believes that when the team is given encouragement and opportunity to try something new, they rise to the occasion. She uses her favorite advice as a way to help manage others; growth only occurs when you focus more on your goals than your comfort zone.
The Gas & Welding Industry
Jocelyn has recently become more involved with industry associations like the Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative (IWDC) and the Northeastern Subcontractors Association (NESCA). She is a member of the Marketing Committee for Purity Plus, a specialty gas brand created by IWDC. She focuses on brand exposure of Purity Plus within the company’s market and developing a partnership with other independent distributors. Jocelyn is also the point of contact for NESCA business partnerships, attending several member events throughout the year. She coordinates the company’s booth for NESCA’s yearly Trade Show event in the Fall.
Community Outreach
Jocelyn spearheads the company’s community outreach programs. She organizes fundraising efforts for local charitable organizations, like St. Catherine’s Center for Children (SCCC) and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region (BBBSCR). Her efforts include corporate donations, social advocacy, and team involvement at charitable events. She ensures that the company’s commitment to noble causes in the community align with causes close to the hearts of the team. Most recently, she organized a team to participate in Albany’s Walk against Breast Cancer. Jocelyn has also supported the BBBSCR as a member of the Chef’s Challenge committee.
Jocelyn continues to take steps towards progress within her community and the company. Noble Gas is proud to highlight her as one of our female leaders during this Women’s History Month.
